MAMARONECK - In 1927, Ben Parmet dropped out of high school because of financial hardship. Now, at age 100, during the country's current economic meltdown, Parmet finally got his diploma. "This is a dream come true," Parmet said with a smile yesterday. "It's so unusual for this to happen." Parmet is now officially an alumnus of James Madison High School in Brooklyn. Yesterday the school's alumni association gave him an honorary diploma in the lobby of his residence at the Sarah Neuman Center. "Ben went around telling everyone his biggest regret was not going back to get his high school diploma," said Dick Kossof, the alumni association's co-president. "We heard about him and we were determined that we're going to get this guy his high school diploma".
